The Division for Student Development and Management of MNUMS is part of the main administrative unit of the university, which is responsible for all activities from the time of admission until graduation. At the beginning of each academic year, a student-focused action plan is developed and approved by the Vice president for Academic affairs. Division for Student Development and Management.
– Conducts activities aimed at overcoming the challenges of student socialization and interaction, academic success, teamwork, leadership, humane and ethical hospitals or health workers, professional value, personal responsibility and self-discipline for independent studies.
– Each year new students are provided with detailed information about the university as well topics about professional pride, values, training, internal rules, morals and ethics in a special scheduled “Introductory lesson” for a week under a supervising professor.
– A psychology center has been established to address the needs of students at the university. On average, about 5 percent of all students seek counseling at the center each year.
– In order to provide students with the opportunity to work outside of school hours, we have a cooperation agreement with the Ulaanbaatar Employment Support Center and the Ulaanbaatar Employment Agency. The Student Employment Center provides part- time jobs to students supporting their tuition and finance.
– The Student Arts and Sports Festival are held annually to involve all students and provide opportunities to develop teamwork and help them get to know each other better.
– MNUMS organizes various events for promoting students to become healthy, patriotic, compassionate, knowledgeable and positive doctors, medical professionals and exemplary citizens who respect their native language and culture. For example, within the framework of the “Student Development” programme (approved by the order A/187 of the MNUMS dated September 17, 2021), we have “Patriotic student”, “Healthy and talented student”, “Exemplary student”, “Employed student” 4 sub- programmes for students. Within the framework of the “Patriotic Student” sub- programme, the “Drop of Blood – Full Life” voluntary and non-receivable blood donation campaign was launched at the Student Cultural Center of MNUMS and more than 220 students participated in the campaign and donated 460 liters of blood. On the 12th of November, the result of the campaign was summarized and the trophy was handed over to the National University of Mongolia. And as part of this campaign, all students at six state-owned universities are being encouraged to donate blood.
– For promoting professional value, ethics and maturity “Student Oath Ceremony” of MNUMS is held every year as custom.
– To increase the number of healthy, physically fit, psychologically and militarily trained students that can defend their country, MNUMS is regularly involved in the “Student Soldier” programme, by enrolling undergraduate students in special military training programmes which is being implemented to improve defense capabilities and provide resources for mobilization training.
– The Division for Student Development and Management regularly receives feedback from students and has reviewed 3,173 applications over the past five years.
– Satisfaction surveys are conducted annually from medical doctor (MD) students graduating from the School of Medicine at MNUMS.
