About Us
The Department of Hematology operates with four faculty members and provides high-quality education and services in undergraduate, undergraduate, and postgraduate training, scientific research, and clinical practice.
Our department is staffed by Prof. O. Odgerel (Ph.D., M.D.), Assoc. Prof. A. Otgonbat (Ph.D., M.D.), Dr. O. Purevjal (Ph.D., M.D.), Dr. N. Bayalagmaa (Ph.D., M.D.), Dr. N. Munkh-Erdene (Ph.D., M.D.), and Dr. N. Munkh-Uchral (Ph.D., M.D.). Among them, Dr. Munkh-Erdene is currently conducting postdoctoral research in Japan in his specialization.
Fifty percent of the faculty members hold professional ranks. Prof. O. Odgerel and Assoc. Prof. A. Otgonbat is are national consultant-level specialist, while Dr. O. Purevjal holds a senior specialist rank. The clinical faculty of the Hematology Department provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and transfusion medicine services at the Mongolian–Japanese Hospital of MNUMS. In addition to undergraduate training, the department successfully conducts residency, master’s, and doctoral programs in collaboration with relevant schools and units of MNUMS. The department aims to contribute to the high-level diagnosis and management of both common and rare hematologic disorders nationwide.
