Introduction<\/mark><\/strong>
The Department of Dermatology, School of Medicine of the Mongolian National University of Medical Science has educated doctors and specialists in dermatology capable of performing dermatology practice and aims to bring our training and research activities, as well as the medical services to the international level.
History<\/mark><\/strong>
Just in over 50 years since the first national doctors graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the National University of Mongolia in 1947, a whole system of medical education has been established to educate and retrain doctors and medical practitioners of the country. During this short period of time, the faculty had expanded to the establishment of Mongolian National University of Medical Science (MNUMS) and increasing its teaching facilities, number of faculties and professors so far. Today, it became an inexhaustible source of knowledge and the Center for national medical education and research. The National University of Mongolia has established on October 5, 1942, with three faculties, one of which was a medical department. The Department of Dermatology has established on April 26, 1950, by the Order No.16 of the Director of the National University of Mongolia and it laid the foundation for the further development of this sector, and educational base for medical students and dermatologists, and improvement of the patient care, dermatology treatment, and research practice. The Head of the First Department of Dermatology was a Soviet specialist and associate professor Boris Alexeivich Zenin. The Head of the medical department A.M. Sobolev taught dermatology to medical students the first time, between academic years of 1945\u20131946. While teaching the subject of dermatology, A.M.Sobolev developed textbooks in dermatology, which translated into Mongolian by professors T. Shagdarsuren and Ch. Dolgor. Ch.Dolgor, People\u2019s Doctor of Mongolia, Honored Doctor, and Professor, became the head of the department in 1958 and administrated the Department of Our National Specialists. In 1958, Karp Artemovich Serpyan worked as a consultant teacher (for a year) in the department and Professor Ts. Nyamdorj was accompanying as a teaching practitioner.

Currently, our department has 4 staff (teachers). The head of the department U.Dugarmaa \/MD, PhD\/, B.Oyuntsatsral \/MD, MMSc\/, N.Bolor \/MD, PhD\/, and B.Minjinsuvd \/MD, MMSc\/. (Resume of each is included).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Training programs<\/mark><\/strong>
A. Undergraduate training<\/strong>
1. Undergraduate training course for general doctors:<\/strong> Training description: To provide knowledge on the most prevalent skin diseases in Mongolia and to build a comprehensive capacity to plan, diagnose and treat those diseases. To whom: School of Medicine, \u201c5th block training\u201d for 5th-year medical students, Course content: 3 credits, 144 hours
2<\/strong>. Undergraduate training course for dental\/oral hygienists:<\/strong> Training description: School of dentistry, 3rd-year students. 1 credit, 8 hours of lectures and 16 hours of practice
3.<\/strong> Undergraduate training course for traditional medicine doctors:<\/strong> Training description: School of traditional medicine, 1 credit, 8 hours of lectures and 16 hours of practice
B. Postgraduate training:<\/strong>
Dermatology residency training is a two-year course with a total of 88 credits. The training prepares basic dermatologists who are able to work independently in the field of dermatology.\u00a0<\/strong>We also offer advanced postgraduate training programs in dermatology, such as specialized training in dermatosurgery, cosmetology, as well as in-service training every two years.
C. Graduate:<\/strong>

D. Short-term training:<\/strong> In collaboration with the Department of Dermatology of Yonsei University, the following international training is organized annually with the support of the University\u2019s Medical Complex and Medical Mission Center.
